Wiki

Haven't been keeping up very well. So I'm a bit behind. Maybe when the program gets rolled out it could be spread out over a couple of weeks per topic? For those staff who go on leave, are particularly busy for a couple of weeks etc.

Had a look at the Wikipedia entry for the State Library. Very bare. Compare the NLA which has what looks like an authorised entry with lots of information. We're missing a great opportunity to sell ourselves - we could include links to our catalogue, exhibitions, PICMAN photos etc.

I've been looking at some of the other suggested wikis eg Monatan History wiki and thinking how useful they would be for subject guides for Family History ro other big ranging subjects that are difficult to pull together. A wiki seems like a more manageable tool than a Navigator. I notice the Montan History wiki is not open to editing - but you can send comments to an email address.
We could use a wiki on our intranet for policies, procedures and shareing other types of info instead of sending emails out to large groups of staff.

It's a good idea to have 'catch up' time when we roll the program out for all staff. We'll take that on board.
