I've just realised that I haven't been using tags for my posts - not even for my post on tagging! So I've just tagged my previous post on online applications and am now tagging this one on tagging. A bit of a navel gazing exercise at this point, I guess.

Online applications

I've managed to creat a mini-slideshow on Google Docs.
I've used zoho before and foudn it very useful, and have suggested it to clients who come in asking if the Library has Word on its computers.

Answer boards and mashups

Desperately trying to finish the course before the end of this week! Racing the clock and trying to create a mashup is just toooo much for me today. But I've checked out the Answer Board Librarians which is great. Anything to get people aware of librarians' skills. If people won't come to the library I guess the library has to go to them.
I'm going to have to try a mashup at some other time. I can see their usefulness for the library - for websites, learning tools, exhibitions, calendars of events, maps and photos with commentary, learning guides etc.

Tagging

I love Library Thing. What a great idea! I will never experience that bewildering feeling of not knowing what to read next. Great of reading groups in libraries.
Delicious was a bit confusing. I'll have to spend some more time on it.
For libraries - a good idea for internet links in different subject areas, and inviting users to put in their tags.
I think the cloud tag is a brilliant idea and quite meaningful.
